Moooi Milan 2018

Bespoke Wallpaper for museum of extinct animals exhibition

Moooi commissioned Rive Roshan to design a bespoke repeating wallpaper pattern of 2 meters by 1.5 meters for their yearly brand presentation during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. During Milan Design Week, Moooi is always one of the highlights with one of the largest set designs around and an overwhelming level of storytelling.

The 2018 edition's theme is 'Museum of Extinct Animals' and features a series of imaginary animals that might have once existed in a time far gone. Rive Roshan was asked to create a world to be inhabited by these rare creatures. A lush and complex pattern was designed to unify the different animals in one design and to create a centrepiece in the Milan exhibition.

The project for Moooi in Milan is a continuation of the research of Rive Roshan into merging old imagery with contemporary graphic themes, such as the studio explored in its project for the Hyatt Regency in Amsterdam.
